Next week, we commemorate Anzac Day on 25 April. This date is the anniversary of the day
Australian and New Zealand soldiers landed on the beaches of Gallipoli in 1915 as part of
the Allies' invasion. St John Vianney’s Manly students and staff will be participating in
the Manly Anzac Day March and Ceremony on 25 April which is a long-standing
tradition where we usually have at least 150 children participate each year. A parent
slip was sent on 12 April so please make sure you let us know if your child is
attending. It is a special event, and we attend so that we can:
salute the service and sacrifice of the men and women who have worn our country's
uniform.
recognise the men and women who are currently serving overseas.
acknowledge the impact this has on them and their family and friends who remain at
home.
You are also welcome to attend our school Anzac Day liturgy on 24 April at 2pm.
