Library Newshttp://www.sjv.qld.edu.au/news-events/Pages/Library-News.aspxLibrary News<p></p><div>Welcome back to everyone! I hope you have had a chance for some fun holiday reading in the cooler weather, I know I did. The children ask me, what did I read these holidays? Here are my top three. My daughter and I laughed all the way through 104-Storey Treehouse by Andy Griffiths and have high hopes for our next visit to the $2 shop. Sorry but you’ll have to ask your child to explain that one, when they have read the book.</div><div><br> </div><div>Changing pace, I also loved Lady Mary by Lucy Worsley, a dramatic historical fiction for upper primary with mature themes, about Henry the Eighth. Finally, an early childhood book and next year’s choice for National Simultaneous Storytime is Macca the Alpaca, lots of clever rhyme and silly fun. Reading is for enjoyment and your child can learn to love reading if they don’t already. In our busy lives, make sure you are making time to read with your child most days.</div><div><br> </div>Big excitement this week as our brightly painted library was revealed and open for students to recommence library lessons and borrowing. Please assist your child in being organised and remind them to have books packed and ready to go on their library day. Feel free to drop in and say hi and see our dazzling library.

SJV Memories - the Video!
In 2016, St John Vianney's Primary School celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the school's opening in 1941. Some of the original students gathered for a chat and to share their stories about those early years. Click on the video player above to view.
