St John Vianney's Catholic Primary School

St John Vianney’s is a co-educational Catholic primary school (Prep – Year 6) with a current enrolment of 420 students.

We are located in Brisbane’s Eastern suburbs, on a hill above Manly Village and harbour with panoramic views of Moreton Bay and the Bay Islands .

St John Vianney’s is an energetic school community where staff, parents and students work collaboratively to develop a cohesive approach to education. Key features include an awareness of social justice issues and environmental sustainability. Some distinctive curriculum offerings include ICLT, LOTE (Italian), Music and Arts programs (Visual or Dramatic Arts), Instrumental Music and Leadership Program.

We have well maintained facilities with a modern Library and Prep classrooms. A new school hall was opened in 2011 and new classrooms were built in 2015. The playground was redeveloped to become a lovely space in 2016. Our grounds and play areas are shaded, well equipped and maintained.

We invite you to contact us for further information.

 St John Vianney's Latest News

SJV Christmas Concert - Monday 20th Novemberhttp://www.sjv.qld.edu.au/news-events/Pages/SJV-Christmas-Concert---Monday-20th-November.aspxSJV Christmas Concert - Monday 20th November<div style="text-align:justify;"><img class="ms-rtePosition-2" alt="christmasconcert.jpg" src="/news-events/PublishingImages/christmasconcert.jpg" style="margin:5px 15px;width:174px;" />On Monday 20 November, religious songwriter and singer Andrew Chinn will be visiting our school to be a part of our Christmas celebrations. Andrew’s songs, such as “These Hands”, “Together As One”, “Rainbow” and “In the Beginning” are used in classrooms and liturgies around Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Parents are warmly invited to be a part of the celebration of faith and fun. Andrew's music can be purchased from iTunes.</div><div style="text-align:justify;"><br>The concert will take place on the school oval at 6pm. SJV students should be  seated with their class teacher at 5.45pm. Families are invited to bring a picnic blanket and nibbles to enjoy during the concert, though we ask that SJV students have eaten prior to the event. This is an alcohol free event.</div><div style="text-align:justify;"><div><br>Children are asked to wear Christmas colours - i.e. red and green.</div><div style="text-align:justify;">Year 2 only are asked to wear nativity clothes - i.e. clothes in keeping with what Mary and Joseph, wise men and shepherds may have worn. Some children may like to dress as animals which may have been present - sheep, cattle etc.</div></div><div style="text-align:justify;"><br>Please note that non-SJV children in attendance will be in the care of their parents/caregivers during the concert (and are not to be elsewhere around the school/distracting from the concert). It would be helpful to let children, particularly younger siblings, know that the adventure playground and courts etc will be off limits on the evening.</div><div style="text-align:justify;"><br>We look forward to seeing you there.</div>

It was an absolute pleasure to be able to commence the handover with Katherine and I have no doubt she will be a great asset to the school and wider community. Mrs McKay was warmly welcomed by the staff and students as you would expect. Katherine will work again with the School Leadership Team early next week prior to her commencement on 16 January 2018. I am certain you will make Mrs McKay feel welcome.</p>
