St John Vianney's Catholic Primary School

St John Vianney’s is a co-educational Catholic primary school (Prep – Year 6) with a current enrolment of 420 students.

We are located in Brisbane’s Eastern suburbs, on a hill above Manly Village and harbour with panoramic views of Moreton Bay and the Bay Islands .

St John Vianney’s is an energetic school community where staff, parents and students work collaboratively to develop a cohesive approach to education. Key features include an awareness of social justice issues and environmental sustainability. Some distinctive curriculum offerings include ICLT, LOTE (Italian), Music and Arts programs (Visual or Dramatic Arts), Instrumental Music and Leadership Program.

We have well maintained facilities with a modern Library and Prep classrooms. A new school hall was opened in 2011 and new classrooms were built in 2015. The playground was redeveloped to become a lovely space in 2016. Our grounds and play areas are shaded, well equipped and maintained. We invite you to contact us for further information.

Sport Newshttp://www.sjv.qld.edu.au/news-events/Pages/Sport-News.aspxSport News
Track & Field Carnivals - The permission/consent forms for both the Junior (Prep to Year 2) and Senior (Years 3 to 6) Track and Field Carnivals will be forwarded to families (via Parent Slips) in the next week. These carnivals are very labour intensive and require ‘many hands’ to assist in setting up and assisting in conducting the various events (particularly the field event rotations for the Senior Carnival). Please note the dates: Tuesday 12 June at SJV (Junior) and Tuesday 19 June at MBC (Senior). If you are able to assist, even for part of the day, that would be greatly appreciated.

Gala Day Years 5 and 6 - The information pack for the Gala Day for Year 5 and 6 students has now been forwarded electronically to families. I seek your support in ensuring all families have replied. Please also note that it is a requirement on these days for all students to travel both TO and FROM the venues via bus.

Thank you for your continued support of ‘all things sport’ at SJV.

SJV Memories - the Video!
In 2016, St John Vianney's Primary School celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the school's opening in 1941. Some of the original students gathered for a chat and to share their stories about those early years. Click on the video player above to view.
