Principal's Welcomehttp://www.sjv.qld.edu.au/About%20Our%20School/Pages/Principal%27s-Welcome.aspx, Principal's WelcomePrincipal's WelcomeOn behalf of the St John Vianney's school community I warmly welcome you to our school. We have a wonderful partnership with our Parish Priest, Fr Frank Jones and the Parish of St John Vianney's. The ministry of education is one that is shared between parents, teachers and the wider community. As Principal, I will support you in nurturing and promoting the growth of our children as we reflect the life and mission of Jesus, promoting a vibrant spiritual life through learning, prayer and liturgy. My commitment to Catholic Education is lived out through my active involvement in Parish and school life and living out the Gospel values through our words and actions. I have a passion for living out the work of Nano Nagle by working with the poor and marginalised.
Learning and Teachinghttp://www.sjv.qld.edu.au/Curriculum/Pages/default.aspx, Learning and TeachingLearning and TeachingCentral to curriculum planning at St John Vianney’s Primary School is the Brisbane Catholic Education Learning Framework which sets out the beliefs and values on which learning is based. We educate all to live the gospel of Jesus Christ as successful, creative and confident, active and informed learners empowered to shape and enrich our changing world.

We want to invite you to help us strike out at social issues, such as poverty, child labour, child trafficking, homelessness and lack of education. </p><p style="text-align:justify;">On Friday 12 October (Week 1, Term 4) we ask that SJV students wear their craziest socks and bring a gold coin to donate to this very worthy cause. </p>

Library Newshttp://www.sjv.qld.edu.au/news-events/Pages/Library-News.aspxLibrary News<p>Stop, this one is for you! Australian Reading Hour is today, Thursday September 20. If you are looking for a reason to validate picking up a book these holidays, here it is. According to the website (<a href="https://www.readinghour.org.au/">https://www.readinghour.org.au/</a> ), adults reading has been shown to reduce stress by 68% , we could all do with that ... more than listening to music, going for a walk, or having a cup of tea, lots of my favourites in that list. A huge, thank you to the amazing Mums who have covered hundreds of new readers, which were generously donated by the P and F. I hope you get a chance to relax and enjoy a good book over the holidays! </p><p>A big thank you to the students from 6S who have again given up their lunch breaks to read to Prep J this term in our Raging Reader program.
