SJV Shines in Research Project

In the last week of Term 3, Miss Tara Warriner, Mr Mitch Albury and Miss Lauren Mill were involved in two days of lesson observations which will be part of the ongoing research of James Russo and Jane Hubbard at Monash University. The feedback from the team was that the time spent with our teachers exceeded their expectations and I thank them for being open to learning and sharing their practice. I share a snippet from the email I received which is a credit to all of our staff at SJV:

"We knew we were in safe hands visiting Manly but WOW, what we witnessed exceeded our expectations. You were all absolute superstars and brought a tear to our eyes how exemplary each of your lessons were. We also would like to thank your wonderful students, who at the end of a very long term, shone bright, and were a joy to watch demonstrating Mathematical thinking.

We thank you for changing the way Mathematics is taught and learnt for our young people. It is a significant honour to include SJV as part of this research project which will culminate in reference material to help all teachers improve learning for their students. We hope the experience has been nothing but positive for you, and you can proudly wear this badge with pride when it comes to your own professional knowledge and practice. "
