End of Term 2

As we are near the end of Term 2, I want to acknowledge and thank all of our staff for their hard work and commitment this term. It has been a big term with many highlights and celebrations:

  • Our external school review validating all of the work we have been doing around continuous improvement and the strong learning culture at SJV.
  • We welcomed Executive Director Dr Sally Towns and Deputy Executive Director Dr Doug Ashleigh who confirmed that they saw high levels of consistency and clarity in all classrooms and witnessed the expert teaching team.
  • We celebrated National Reconciliation Week as a school community which was embraced by all members of our community and highlighted the gifts and talents of our school choir.
  • Our students in Years 3 & 5 participated in NAPLAN Online with a great level of confidence and skillset.
  • We have had our Cross Country, Prep & 1 Fun Run and this week Track and Field.
  • Students have participated at QC Cup Netball, BCE Rugby 7s, Bayside Readers Cup and SJV Readers Cup providing rich and rewarding experiences.
  • Our P & F Mini Olympics highlighted the great community spirit and community engagement at SJV and most importantly was lots of fun!

I want to also acknowledge the incredible support and partnership we have with our parents and families. We know that when we work in successful partnership, it has the best outcomes for students. I particularly want to thank the P & F and the many parent volunteers who have supported our Mini Olympics and other key events throughout the term.
