SJV Walkathon - 18th June

The P&F Committee are very excited to present our 2021 SJV Walkathon on Friday 18 June.

The whole school will walk to George Clayton Park (AKA the Bandstand Park) on the beautiful Esplanade and return before the end of the school day. At the park we will have a carnival atmosphere with a rotational program of events throughout the day.

This year our Walkathon will celebrate indigenous culture and deepen our understanding of Quandamooka country and its custodians, the Quandamooka people.

We have the absolute honour of welcoming Quandamooka elder Aunty Becky, Josh Walker, Matt Byrne and other indigenous educators who will be presenting curated presentations to our community.

Please start collecting donations now for your children’s fundraising effort. All donations are to be submitted via your Qkr! account with final submissions closing on Friday 25 June. There is an incredible list of prizes to win. A huge thanks to our wonderful sponsors who have donated all the prizes. We are so very blessed to have such support for our school.

We will also have the highly anticipated hair/nails/tattoo/cake stall tents at the park. These can be accessed with a gold coin or three.

Monies raised will go toward our Term 2 fundraising intentions - developing our SJV Reconciliation Action Plan, and for literacy resources.

The day cannot happen without a strong force of volunteers. We have a wonderful parent body who love to be part of the fun and this is one not to be missed. Please note only parents who volunteer can attend the walkathon.

We require volunteers for each class for the duration of the day, as well as helpers for set up/pack up at the park, the BBQ, cake stall, hairspray/nails/tattoo/zinc stalls, toilets and morning and afternoon crossing marshals to ensure a smooth walk to the park.

Please see the link below to nominate yourself for a position. Spots are filling fast so don’t miss out! fbclid=IwAR0CEgZqzVfiLo22SDS6H2cPh3jumt_XBGXHLxdRd-r6uqObBzMLnut8xtw
