End of Term 2 Reflection

As we approach the last couple of days of Term 2, I am proud of how we have collectively as a community responded to the challenges of COVID-19. So much has happened in a relatively short time frame that it is easy to lose track, however, what we have experienced would have been unimaginable at the beginning of the year. It continues to impact our lives but hopefully in smaller ways. Over the holidays, the leadership team will be meeting to plan for the new guidelines from the Chief Health Officer and Australian Health Protection Committee (AHPPC). We will be looking at what we can re-introduce to the school community in a safe way ensuring we follow the guidelines, COVID Safe Industry Plan and the risk assessments. We know and acknowledge that there are many procedures and habits we now have in place that are our “new normal.” I will communicate our Term 3 plans in the last week of the holidays.

I want to thank you for your ongoing support of our school community. The support parents and grandparents have given to the staff and students has ensured our students' wellbeing, academic performance and spiritual formation have continued to grow and flourish. I hope that during these holidays, families can enjoy time together and there are opportunities for play dates and catch ups with SJV families. I know you will join me in thanking and acknowledging the amazing work of all of our staff this term and we value and appreciate their dedication and commitment. It has been wonderful this term for our school to have visits from the Brisbane Catholic Education Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director and we have featured in many media stories which highlights the wonderful community we belong to.

I wish you all a safe and happy holiday and if you are travelling throughout Queensland, safe travels.

In God We Trust.
